I'm always thankful at this time of year that I get calls from old friends. We get to catch up. I get to do something I enjoy. And I get to see their darling growing families. "Tis the season for family pictures.

Sneak Preview - J Family - Utah Family Photographer - Utah Child Photographer

I was lucky to spend an evening during Spring Break with this beautiful family. It was the coldest night of the week, but we got lucky that the rain stopped for a little while and the sun even peaked through the clouds.

Angie and I new each other in high school and came together again in honor of our high school classmate, Nate Jordan, who recently passed away after a battle with cancer. I donated this session to help raise money for his wife and two little daughters he left behind. Not only am I thankful that I could donate a little of my time and talent, but I am also grateful I could meet Angie's family and take a look at them through my lens. We had so much fun playing in the leaves.

Last Minute Creativity

My dear friend Christine and I have had countless phone conversations about how much we looked forward to spending time with our families in fall 2010 and how we'd take each others' pictures. I swore to clear the calendar completely and enjoy the weekend with just them. And I did a good job until a few weeks before their arrival when we had an unexpected and unchangeable shift in plans. Our week was full of doctor's visits and all of those necessary emergency things you can't take off of the to-do list. We still had one evening to work with and we were planning to head to our favorite canyon to take in the fall colors and capture their family in the the beautiful scenery and light. Then another emergency in their family changed those plans and we went searching for possibilities close to home an hour before they had to leave town early. Despite the time crunch and disappointment in not being able to go to the canyon, I'm thankful I was forced to get creative in a new location. And I'm thankful I got to spend time with this darling family. Here's a peak at some of my favorites:

One Momma with her Hands FULL

Full of three beautiful, busy, BOYS, all 3 and under. :)

My dear friend, Hailey, and her family stopped by for an afternoon visit while they were in Salt Lake for a day. I hope they didn't mind I turned their visit into a mini-photo shoot. I couldn't resist. Three darling boys. All dressed up. I couldn't help but take their pictures.

Her newest little guy was such a good baby, I don't think I heard him cry once while they visited.

This was Mister Smile and Photogenic.

The oldest.

Momma and quiet baby.

I loved watching as Hailey talked to her baby and he cooed right back in the most darling, tender voice. He knows his Mom and she must feel so much love as he expresses it to her in his little voice and bright smiles.

One more of number two, just for fun.

Thanks for letting me take the camera out and take these. I hope you enjoy. I'll send you a link so you can download all of them, Hailey.
